Student Services

Clemson Libraries provide a number of services to our graduate and undergraduate students beyond just borrowing materials, checking out materials reserved for a course, and checking out technology. You can also learn how to pick up and return materials, pay fines, request or recall itemsimprove your research, and what to do if you lose or damage any library materials. Clemson Libraries offer places to study, rooms in which to meet.

Checkout Privileges at Other Libraries

If you’re able to use PASCAL Delivers, you can also go in-person to visit another PASCAL Delivers library and check out the book yourself using the Visiting Patron service. Note that Visiting Patron checkouts have different limits from PASCAL Delivers patrons; in-person patrons are limited to three items and the checkout period for these items is three weeks with one additional three week renewal allowed. You will need to present a picture ID and know your institutional ID and the authentication code you use to request books using PASCAL Delivers.

Online Book Checkout

Distance education students and students with disabilities may request that books be checked out and mailed to them. Call us for more information at 864-656-3027.

Notifications of overdue items and fines are sent through the university email system.

Overdue Fines

Books, Popular Reading books and audiobooks, and CD/DVD media materials incur fines of $.25 per day that they are overdue. Overdue fines for reserve materials vary from $1.00 per hour to $1.00 per day, dependent upon the checkout period. If material has been recalled, overdue fines become $1.00 per day. Items checked out through Resource Sharing incur overdue fines at $1.00 per day.

Paying Your Fines

Students may pay library fines online with TigerStripe, credit/debit cards, or by using a checking or savings account. Payments may be made in person using TigerStripe only. You can add funds to TigerStripe cards by visiting the Value Transfer Station located on the 4th floor of Cooper Library. Students, faculty, and staff may also add funds by using the TigerOne Online Card Office.

Outstanding University patron debts are turned over to Student Financial Services at the end of each semester. Once the debt has been turned over to SFS, payment can be made through iRoar. Community and alumni patron debts are turned over to a contracted collection agency.
